1 The AWE calculator, which calculates Average Weekly Earnings for Workers Compensation claims attached to a South Australian Policy, is accessed through the [[Wage Compensation Setup>>doc:Injury Master.Wage Compensation.Wage Compensation Setup.WebHome]] page.

5 **Using the AWE Calculator**

7 The calculator is split into four sections. Some fields will automatically be complete based on information already entered into the system.

9 There are blue **?** next to some fields, this is a help tool. Please select for further information regarding the field. \\For any fields that are not applicable leave as 0.00.

15 *. Incident date - this field will show the date as entered in the system. If incorrect it will need to be amended under the //Edit Claim //tab.\\\\
16 *. Weeks Employed - number of weeks the worker has been employed.\\\\
17 *. Last Payroll Date - the last pay date prior to the date of the incident. \\\\
18 *. Payroll Frequency - how often the work is paid.

24 *. Based on the information entered into the Employment & Payroll section above the pay periods for the previous 52 weeks of employment (or number of weeks employed if employment is less than 52 weeks) will show. \\\\
25 *. Enter the pre-injury payments for each pay period. There are four fields per period that require completion: Base Wages, Allowances, Overtime and Non-Cash benefits.\\\\
26 *. Multiple payments can be pasted directly from Excel.

32 Once the pre-injury payments section is complete the Averages fields will automatically show the relevant calculations. \\**\\Average Week Earnings**
